Tea and Rain in Hong Kong

FQ1A1744It’s been a rainy weekend here – and time for indoor tea drinking and communicating with tea suppliers in China and Japan for supplies of tea to take us through fall and winter. The hot, humid rainy weather reminds me of similar steamy days we have experienced in Hong Kong.

This is a photograph of a painting that that we purchased in Hong Kong when we ended our last tea buying trip with a few days in this dynamic city. A food and shopping reward for our hard work, the uncomfortable beds and all the bumpy roads in rural China.

Sated on dim sum and teapots full of bolei ( Pu-erh tea ) we had entered the happiness zone. Voila – money is easily spend when feeling so happy. I love this painting because it reminds me of the energy of that vibrant city, and the non-stop coming and going of everyday life which continues unhampered by rain.
